Gain expert help in navigating the maze of modern obstetrics and boost your confidence to ensure the smoothest, most enjoyable transition to parenthood. Attend this comprehensive, upbeat, evidenced-based, consumer-oriented series and learn about practices which facilitate birth, breastfeeding and those early days with a newborn. My goal is to offer an exemplary learning experience that will exceed your expectations. I strive to provide a series that is both relevant and interesting. At the start of your series you will have the chance to tell me exactly what it is that you want to learn to assure that your particular concerns and needs are met.

This FULL SERIES is held in the Oro Valley Town Council Chambers at
11000 N. La Canada and meets for 4 consecutive Saturdays
(4 weeks = 10 hours) $70 - is appropriate for everyone: whether you are first-time parents or you have already been through the birth experience.

October 6, 23, 30, and November 6
January 8, 15, 22, and 29

Better Birth Refresher $35 (shorter 2 class meetings of 2 hours each) call for info
This interactive class is designed for experienced parents who have taken childbirth preparation classes in the past, and would like to take a refresher course. Parents are encouraged to share the story of their prior birth(s), discuss what they hope will happen again, and what they would like to change this time around. Class discussion focuses on the issues most important to class participants and include:

A refresher of the stages of labor, and the ways in which a typical labor process is different for women who have given birth before than for first time mothers
Re-examination of pain management options
Information about how to advocate for your own needs within the medical setting
Exploration of effective methods for labor support and comfort techniques for coping with labor pain, with time for hands-on practice
VBAC – vaginal birth after cesarean
Breastfeeding and sibling issues

Customized private classes can be arranged for $20 an hour.

Classes will now be held as part of Oro Valley's Parks and Recreation. These classes will be sponsored and registered and paid through Oro Valley Parks and Rec. and will be held in the Oro Valley Town Hall chambers room. (11000 N La Canada)
